Lyon County offers both in-person and virtual tours of our landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Facility which includes mattress recycling and Styrofoam recycling. Tours of these two facilities will teach residents how recyclables and waste is managed in our area. Tours must be arranged with the Lyon County Environmental Department in advance. We are able to tailor our tours and discussions for age groups and interest areas. In-person tours last about one hour. School tours have been offered in the fall, using school buses from Southwest Tours. Please call (507) 532-1307 for further details.
