As part of our Lyon County Parks 50th Anniversary Celebration during 2017 we are inviting photographers to "Photo the Park" thoughout 2017. Garvin Park is nearly 800 acres with 15 miles of trails traversing the oak woodlands along the Cottonwood River in Lyon County - 13 miles South of Marshall. Garvin Park has an amazing bloom of Snow Trilium, striking fall sumac and picturesque mature bur oaks covering the park. So build a blind, find a bloom, or wade the river for that picturesque shot!

As part of our Lyon County Parks 50th Anniversary we are inviting birdwatchers to "Bird the Park" throughout 2017. We realize there are hundreds of great places to bird watch in Minnesota, yet are asking if you might consider visiting Garvin Park in 2017 so that we can better understand Garvin Park's bird life.

Garvin Park is nearly 800 acres with 15 miles of trails traversing the oak woodlands along the Cottonwood River in Lyon County - 13 miles South of Marshall. If you can help us add our understanding of birds in the park, please consider contributing your observations through eBird, the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union Seasonal reporting page, or emailing your observations to This email address is being protected from spambots.
