*** CHANGES FOR 2018 TURKEY HUNTING AT GARVIN PARK ***
The Lyon County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution approving the following hunting activities at Garvin County Park, Minnesota. The chart below lists the seasons and hunting method allowed.
For Seasons A & B (April 18, 2018 to May 1, 2018) shotgun hunting is only allowed between 1/2 hour before sunrise to 12:00pm (noon). For safety reasons, Garvin park will be closed to all other recreation activities. PERMITTED HUNTERS ONLY are allowed in the park between 1/2 hour before sunrise to 12:00PM (noon). After 12:00-pm the park open to all recreation.
For Seasons C through E (May 2, 2018 through May 22, 2018) ARCHERY HUNTING ONLY is allowed. Garvin Park will remain open to all recreational activities.
***All turkey hunters will be required to obtain a permit from the Lyon County Park Staff (Environmental Department) prior to hunting in Garvin Park along with a valid MN DNR license.***
Garvin Park hunting permits may be obtained from park staff, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Lyon County Environmental Department at Lyon County Public Works - 504 Fairgrounds Road, Marshall, Minnesota. You will need your MN DNR license, photo ID and your license plate numbers for the vehicle or vehicles that you will be driving to the Park.
Anyone who does not possess a Garvin Park hunting permit during the closed times will be asked to leave until after noon.
